Mentoring

Let me know if this sounds familiar: You have a camera, people love your pictures, and you absolutely love doing it! So you start taking pictures of friends, and their kids, and some family, and your own kids… and then you realize that this thing you did for fun is actually a lot of work - but also that you wouldn’t dream of doing anything else. So how to move from fun to profit? How can you make this small side gig a full time passion project that you can actually live off of? Where do you get clients that aren’t friends and family? How do you make sure you are doing this whole thing legally, and covering your bases?

I have something here for you too! Check out all my mentoring and coaching opportunities below, or schedule a completely free mini coaching call to see how I might help you!

Mentoring Opportunities

  • Coffee Chats

These sessions are great for photographers who may not be local or just want something a little less than a full blown 1:1 mentorship.

This is a GoogleMeet or in-person session where we can focus on whatever you want! Topics can range anywhere from setting client expectations, email communication, social media marketing, websites, pricing, editing, posing, finding your ideal client, etc.. You name it, we can talk about it!

    $450 per hour

Editing is usually at least a 2 hour meeting

  • Monthly Mentoring Packages

Need more than just one meeting? I offer 3 and 6 month in person mentoring as well! Meetings can cover anything you are needing help with at that point.

We will meet twice per month - one virtual and one in person meeting. This also includes text/email/phonecall meetings throughout the month to make sure you are getting immediate help on issues that arise during our time together.

    $500/monthly
3 months: $1400 if paid in full
6 months: $2600 if paid in full

Meetings are generally 1-2 hours, per topic. Meetings take place at my studio unless otherwise discussed.

  • Half Day Mentoring

This is a 4 hour mentoring session, where we will cover everything you could think of. We’ll meet up for coffee and I will walk you through everything I have prepared for you based off of what you want to learn. You can ask as many questions as you can think of along the way.

From there, you will come with me to a portrait session with a real couple and see exactly how I interact with my clients, how I pose (or don’t pose) them, and how I get them to interact with each other. Afterwards we will go back to the coffee shop, go through the images and discuss, answer any more questions you have.

Topics can range from attracting your dream client, social media marketing, preparing for a session, client communication, posing, editing, workflow, websites, SEO, pricing, blogging, programs & software, and more.

This mentorship DOES NOT include teaching basic use of your camera, taxes or contracts besides general advice for where to find someone qualified to give you that information.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Business Coaching is done 100% virtually, via phone calls or video conferencing. It is designed to help a photographer that already knows how to shoot and edit, but may struggle with the business side of things - workflow, client communication, closing sales, meeting goals, and more.

Mentoring includes everything Business Coaching includes, and more. Mentoring is mostly done in person (with a few virtual meetings depending on subject) and aimed more at teaching all the aspects of photography - shooting, posing, editing, finding light, etc. This is good for photographers that want to improve their photographic or editing skills.

  • I am unable to teach anything legal (contracts, etc) or tax/IRS related - but I can and will refer you to professionals that can help you!

  • This depends! I have a studio in Boston, NY. However, sometimes we will meet at local parks or locations we are shooting in, or at coffee shops if that is an easier spot for you!

  • I highly suggest scheduling a free clarity call so we can make sure we’re a good fit! I want you to get the absolute most out of your mentorship, and making sure we mesh well from the beginning is an important part to that!
